CITY OF YELM ds1c:\office\plandept.cc\apps\spr.app T '~/ ~4 Missin PAGE 3 Description of Project Saturday Group Inc. owns and operates Scottish Stone, a stone cutting J carving business which produces stone for architectural and landscaping purposes. The business has been operational since 1996. Quarry blocks of stone are delivered to the site -approximately one truck load per week. These blocks are off-loaded by a large forklift, sorted and stored until ready for use. Blocks will be moved into the building via the forklift. Once there, they will be cut into slabs with a large wire saw or a radial saw, depending on their application. Most stone cutting equipment utilizes recirculating water to eliminate dust. This system collects and filters the stone dust which is then transported off-site. Some finishing work requires dry cutting and this is done in a contained room with industry-standard, OSHA-approved filtering equipment. The stone is fabricated into a variety of items such as window sills, bridges, arches, paving, cobblestones, fireplaces, sculptures and such. The finished product is shipped to the customer via truck -usually one per week. mD om$ o~ <a ~ mo ~x sod =__~ o ~ ~" G ° ~m ~~ ~~ ~~a ~ >~ s~ ~~ ~g Z c m moa ...vs o CO lmj O ~A r I ~O a~ ms $ m u ~~ ° m~ ~ z z O y n ;o :. - o Ro m z'q' g R~~ ';o =fig ~ ~~ ggrr po~ . a~> ~g^ ~~~ ~ ~~'' ay$ °=U m~ ~ y i ' F '" F Asa $$ °~ ~~ ~mm ~N~ A O 0 = I AIlt ~ m ~ ~~H I ~ 1 age 7m R~ ~ >< i ~ ~ ~ ~T $~ t] I ~ 1 g~ a ' ^ N x e ~ ~ ~L `-°~- e P F ' ' ' ' ~ ~n ~ .~ z _~~ 4 ~ c P ~ / ( I T I ~ `I ~- ~_ __ . ~ANOSCA E BU FER (T W~ _~ / ~ v R y _ L +;1" i RpRp ^^ LOT 3 SS-8036 / / I ~ ~ e O ~ - I I .i I e 8 y L: R R :~ ~ a ~ ~ ' •~ ---_-~ i TI ~ f d I I~ I I ~ ~ I t:~} Y < I I , :.,,.
