Sidewalks will surround the building, meandering through the landscaping and existing mature trees. Easthaven Villa is typical of good quality assisted living facility. The ceilings and walls will be sheetrock, textwed for paint or wallpaper. Hazdware and millwork will be commercial quality. Floor coverings will be commercial Bade selected for wear, ease of clean-up, odor resistance, and ease of transportation for walkers and wheelchairs. Specialty non- slip vinyl will be used in kitchen and bathroom azeas. Lobby and dining areas will be appointed with quality furnishings that are comfortable and easy to clean. Indirect, ample lighting will be used throughout the building. The building will be complete with an ample HVAC system, wet-type fire sprinkler system, fire alarms in each room wired to a master panel. In addition to ample electrical outlets in each room, the building will be completely wired for telephone, computer network, cable television, perimeter security and a nwse call system connected to handheld pagers and desktop computers. Entrance The main entrance to the building will be at the midpoint of the overall structure, allowing easy access to the central wmmon areas and reducing distances to and from dining azeas for residents and staff. A roof will extend beyond the two-story entrance to allow for dry access in inclement weather. The main lobby featwes a dramatic two-story cuppola over a fireplace that serves as the focal point for the lobby and multi-purpose area. The Dining room is open and airy with a two story cuppola in the center. The new gazebo/solarium complete with planters, which will connect the new wing to the existing building, will aid in bringing the outdoors in which is an important design factor in the occasionally cloudy Northwest. The building will also have exterior entrances at either end of the structwe. These doors will be alarmed at night for resident secwiry. The 376 square foot (measured "middle stud to middle stud") studio apartments will be fully handicapped accessible with two large exterior windows and ample indirect lighting. The units are average size for newer assisted living facilities. Actual living area (measured "paint to paint" and excluding the bathroom) well over the state minimum guidelines. All units will have smoke detectors, nurse pull cords and intercom, individually controlled thermostats. Floor coverings will be commercial grade carpet in the living/bedroom areas and sheet vinyl in the kitchenette and bathrooms. In addition to the nurse call/intercom, the units will be wired for telephone, cable television, computer network, and ample electrical outlets. The walls and ceilings will be textured, painted sheetrock.
