RE: Five Corners Commercial – SPR-05-0023-YL
Access Determination and Pole Relocation
Mr. Paigen:
The City of Yelm met with Doug Bloom and yourself to discuss the access for the above referenced project. During this meeting we discussed many options for access and design of the
intersection of Morris Road and Morris cul-de-sac. Following this meeting, I presented the options to the Site Plan Review (SPR) Committee for approval.
The SPR committee has issued the following comments:
The site access will remain in the same location as approved by the land use application. The access will be on Morris cul-de-sac.
The corner of Morris Road and Morris cul-de-sac needs to meet the City of Yelm’s corner radius requirements. The radius requirement is 35’. To meet these requirements the power pole
will have to be relocated.
As an option to relocating the power pole, an traffic island may be designed to encompass the power pole and allow right turn traffic from Bald Hills Road/Morris Road intersection to
turn on to Morris cul-de-sac before the power pole. If this option is chosen, please contact me for the design requirements of the island.
If you have any additional questions or comments please do not hesitate to call or contact me at jimg@ci.yelm.wa.us.
