3nd Letter to Longnecker outdoor display City of Yelm Community Development Department 105 Yelm Avenue West P.O. Box 479 Yelm, WA 98597 September 15, 2006 Greg Longnecker J & I Power Equipment, Inc. 10615 Bald Hill Road, S.E. Yelm, WA 98597 Dear Mr. Longnecker: The Community Development Department has has been discussing your proposal of July 31, 2006, for parking and outdoor display of merchandise after my letter of August 25, and the points that were raised during my phone conversation with your Office Manager. It is our consensus that the points raised regarding outdoor lawn and tractor equipment being substantially different in character from the display of merchandise such as pallet loads of merchandise or pre-fabricated storage buildings has merit and is supported by the existing development regulations found in the Zoning Code. The distinction between outdoor display of merchandise and the display of outdoor equipment is the fact that the equipment is wheeled and not substantially different than vehicular parking. Based on this further review, the proposal as outlined in your letter dated July 31, 2006, is approved as submitted. The condition regarding additional landscaping between the street frontage and parking display area is not required. Thank you for your cooperation and willingness to help us work with you through this issue, and if you have any questions regarding this opportunity, please contact myself or Tami Merriman at 458-3835. Sincerely, Grant Beck, Director Department of Community Development
