Dear Torrey:
I preformed a site visit today and discovered a few issues that I wanted to bring to your attention. These items will need to be addressed.
I observed that while your crews were digging a utility crossing at approx. Sta 18+70 that they damaged a waterline. I notified your onsite foreman that this pipe would need to be replaced
from joint to joint. The water main was clearly deflected and damaged. He has my name and phone number to contact me for the reinspection. We will want to see the both water main connections
before they are covered.
We have not received the asphalt mix design for NP roadway. This was requested on the day of paving. Please submit this information.
We have not received the subgrade compaction tests that were required for NP Road. These were requested 2 days before the paving was to begin.
During my site visit today it appears that the project was staked for final grade. It appears that the subgrade has not been placed. Our section is 2” asphalt, 2” crushed rock and
8” of ballast. I asked the foreman about this and apparently it was deleted from the design but no request for this has been submitted to the city. Please see sheet 44 of 45. Please
contact me for the subgrade inspection before you place any ballast or crushed rock material.
NP roadway needs to be completed. Please complete the grading of the shoulders and open this roadway up to though traffic.
