699 Approve Fund Appropriations
CITY OF YELM
ORDINANCE NO. 699
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Yelm amending the Year 2000 Budget
adopted by Ordinance No. 679, (12/99) by approving funding
appropriations necessary to create and operate a Community Development
Department and by reclassifying duties and compensation for some
existing positions and declaring an effective date.
WHEREAS, Yelm City Council at the April 12, 2000 regular City Council
meeting approved a proposed re-organization concept and directed staff to prepare a
budget amendment ordinance creating new positions and reclassifying existing positions
to facilitate the re-organization;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. City of Yelm Budget Ordinance No. 697, Appendix II Salary Step
Schedule and the Year 2000 Salary Schedule are amended by the addition
of the following new non-exempt positions with the accompanying Salary
Range. Unless otherwise noted step levels will be determined on an
individual basis as positions are filled. Salary step amounts are for full-
time positions. Salary and benefits shall be pro-rated based upon the actual
number of hours approved for the position.

Engineer
Salary Schedule $3,700 - $4,050

Administrative Assistant
Salary Schedule $1,869 - $2,222

Section 2. City of Yelm Budget Ordinance No. 697, Appendix II Salary Step
Schedule and Year 2000 Salary Schedule are amended by the following
changes to existing positions:
Building Official
Salary Schedule Q`',4~4 Q~,' 4'' 2,928 - $3,282
Section 3 The Public Works Supervisor's salary increased by $100 per month in
Ordinance No. 662 (3/99) as additional compensation for performing
building official duties and will not be reduced when those duties are
moved to the reclassified building official position.
Section 4. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be in full force five days after the
date of publication according to state law.
