896 Ad Valorem 2009 City of Yelm

AN ORDiNANCE relating to finance and setting the amount fixed as
Ad Valorem for the regular levy of property tax necessary to raise
revenues for essential expenditures for the City of Yelm for the fiscal
year 2009.
WHEREAS, the City Councii of the City of Yelm has met and considered
its budget for the calendar year 2009; and
WHEREAS, a duly advertised public hearing to consider the 2009 regular
property tax tevy rate was held as part of the regular city council meeting on
Tuesday, November 25, 2p08;
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Yelm do ordain as
follows:
Section 1. The City of Yelm requires a regular levy in the amount of
$1,305,905.94, which includes an increase in property tax
revenue from the previous year, and amounts resulting from
the addition of new construction and improvements to property
and any increase in the value of state-assessed property, and
amounts authorized by law as a result of any annexations that
have occurred and refunds made, in order to discharge the
expected expenses and obligations of the district and in its best
interest.
Section 2. An increase in the regular property tax levy is hereby
authorized for the 20Q9 levy in the amount of ~12,099.24 which
is an increase of 1°!o from the previous year. This increase is
exc{usive of additional revenue resulting from new construction,
improvements to property, any increase in the value of state
assessed property, any annexations that have occurred and
refunds made.
Section 3. For the fiscal year beginning January 1 and ending December 31
of 2009, the Yelm City Council hereby levies the prior year's tax
rate of $1.91513149 per thousand dollars of assessed valuation to
new construction and added improvement values of $35,274,365
as determined by the Thurston County Assessor, yielding
$67,555.05 in taxes for New Construction and added
Improvement Values.
Section 4. State Assessed Utility Vatue changes along with refunds and
annexations total $16,326.23.

Section 5. A Certified Budget request or estimate is filed with the County
Legisiative Authority, separate from this ordinance. As required by
RCW 84.52.02~, that filing certifies the total amount to be levied
by the regular property tax levy on the Department of Revenue
provided form for this purpose, REV 64 01 Q0, "Levy
Certification". Certificatian is made in a manner prescribed by the
County Legistative Authority.
Section 6. Effective Date: This ordinance shall become effective five days
following passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
Section 7. Severability. If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence,
clause, ar phrase of this ordinance is declared unconstitutionat
or invalid for any reason, such decision shalf not affect the
validity of the remaining portion of this ordinance.
