606 Emergency Temp PW HIre CITY OF YELM ORDINANCE NO. 606 AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE amending the 1997 City of Yelm Budget, Ordinance No. 588, Appendix II, by authorizing the employment of a temporary Public Works Assistant I employee. WHEREAS, vacancies in the public works department have created a backlog of projects; and WHEREAS, City Council is committed to the continued efficient operation of all City departments for the public good; and WHEREAS, statute permits the enactment of an emergency ordinance to provide for the protection of public health, public safety, public property or the public peace; NOW, THEREFORE, The city council of the City of Yelm do ordain as follows: Section 1. The immediate hiring of a temporary Public Works Assistant I is authorized. Section 2. Said position shall continue through the remaining 1997 budget year. Section 3. Salary for the temporary Public Works Assistant I shall be $1,500.00 per month. Section 4. This position shall be excluded from receiving employee benefits as per the City of Yelm Personnel Policies Handbook (Res. 257, 7/92). Section 5. Effective Date.
