916 Ad Valorem 2010 City of Yelm Ordinance No. 916 tRCW $4.55.120) AN ORDINANCE relating to finance and setting the amount fixed as Ad Valorem for the regular levy of property tax necessary to raise revenues for essential expenditures for the Ciity of Yelm for the fiscal year 2010. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Yeim has met and considered its budget for the calendar year 2010; and. WHEREAS, the population of this City is less than 10,000; and, WHEREAS, a duly advertised public hearing to consider the 2010 regular property tax levy rate was held as part of the regular city council meeting on Tuesday, November 24, 2009; NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Yelm do ordain as follows: Section 1. The City of Yelm requires a regular levy in the amount of $1,388,512.45, which includes an increase in property tax revenue from the previous year, and amounts resulting from the addition of new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state-assessed property, and amounts authorized by law as a result of any annexations that have occurred and refunds made in the amount of $2181.85, in order to discharge the expected expenses and obligations of the district and in its best interest. Section 2. An increase in the regular property tax levy is hereby authorized for the 2010 levy in the amount of $13,746.30 which is an increase of 1.0573% from the previous year. This increase is exclusive of additional revenue resulting from new construction, improvements to property, any increase in the value of state assessed property, any annexations that have occurred and refunds made. Section 3. A Certified Budget request or estimate is filed with the County Legislative Authority, separate from this ordinance. As required by RCW 84.52.020, that filing certifies the total amount to be levied by the regular property tax levy on the Department of Revenue provided farm for this purpose, REV 64 0100, °Levy Certification". Certification is made in a manner prescribed by the County Legislative Authority. Page 1 of 2 Section 4. Effective Date: This ordinance shall become effective eve days following passage and approval as provided by law. Section 5. Severability. !f any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, or phrase of this ordinance is declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, such decision shall not affec# the validity of the remaining portion of this ordinance.
