Re: Environmental Checklist Review for Amtech Corporation, Installation of 6,000 Gallon Dike Bulk Resin Tank
Dear Ms. Hargrave:
I have started the preliminary review of the environmental checklist submitted for the 6,000 gal. storage tank for Amtech Corporation. During this review I have found that many of the
answers to the questions asked in the checklist refer to the “Site Plan and Summary submitted to the City of Yelm Building Department”. I have received those documents from the Building
Official, Gary Carlson. The plans and summary submitted do not sufficiently address the questions in the environmental checklist. I need the missing information before I can continue
the environmental review.
Following, I have listed the questions that need more clarification, and additional information.
Question #
11. & 12.: The site plans submitted do not show the entire site, or where the project lies in relation to the entire site. The Site plan does not show any adjoining properties, or
even Yelm Creek. The summary discusses only the tank design requirements. It does not detail the proposal or the description of any other additional work such as any enclosure for
the tank, the asphalt or paving around the tank, vehicular access.
B.1.e.: The site plans submitted do not show any reference to clearing, grading, or fill.
B.1.g.: The site plans submitted do not show any reference to impervious surfaces other than the tank and its base. Is there any other asphalt or paving under or surrounding the site?
Is there any vehicle access, roads or driveways?
3.a.2): The site plans submitted do not show where Yelm Creek is in relation to the project.
3.a.5): The site is affected by the 100 year flood plain. A more detailed map showing the creek location, and the entire site in relation to the project location, showing that the
project is outside the flood plain.
3.c.1): Question left blank. Is there any stormwater retention facilities on site? Is it large enough to handle additional stormwater runoff?
7.a.: Is there any documentation that styrene emissions are not a health hazard, or documentation showing that the amounts are indeed insignificant? Need more detailed information
on why there is no measures needed to control environmental health hazards.
10.a.: How tall is the proposes structure, the tank and/or any enclosure for the tank.
Please submit this additional information to me. When I receive this information, the City will continue it’s review of the environmental checklist. If you have any questions, please
feel free to give me a call. I can be reached at (360) 458-8496.
