TUESDAY, JUNE 23, 2009 MINUTES
1. Call to Order -Mayor Harding called the Meeting to Order at 7:00 p.m.
2. Roll Call -Present: Don Miller, Joe Baker, Mike McGowan, Pat Fetterly, John
Thompson and Russ Hendrickson. Bob Isom was excused.
3. Agenda Approval
9-055 MOTION BY PAT FETTERLY APPROVING THE AGENDA AS PRESENTED.
CARRIED.
4. Special Presentations-
Mayor Harding introduced Susan Davis as the new Finance Director for the City
of Yelm. She looks forward to establishing a good working relationship with the
Council and providing clear financial reporting.
Krlsten Blalack, Yelm Librarian was present to accept a Certificate of
Appreciation and Key for the 19 years of dedication and cooperation with the
City of Yelm and the Yelm Timberland Library. Kristen will remain on the Tree
Board and will be transferring to the Lacey Timberland branch.
5. Public Comment -
Merle Hom, Yelm, made the observation that Yelm's address grid has too many
house numbers and streets addresses that are confused by too many number
designations. She suggested that new addresses change the trend to be less
confusing to the post office, visitors and residents.

10. Mayor and City Council Reports
Councilmember Baker reported that the Senior Center's financial situation is in
abetter position thanks to the new management and grants received.
Attended Intercity Transit meeting, reporting that 2 of the 3 Citizen Advisory
positions were filled by residents from Yelm. Intercity Transit was named #1,
Best in North American for Public Transportation in the middle division.
Councilmember McGowan reported on the work he is doing with Cindy
Goforth Teixeira and the Housing Authority and the South County HOME
Consortium to secure funding for rentals and home ownership.
Councilmember Fetterly attended the celebration in Olympia for Kiplinger's
magazine recognition at being one of the best rated cities in America. Also
attended the Yelm Cemetery After Hours event. She provided a job posting for
Nisqually River Council staff.
Councilmember Thompson reported on the upcoming Regional Fire Authority
election in August for equal representation for service and taxation in the City
and County.
Mayor Harding attended the City of Olympia award celebration that included
the surrounding region in the consideration of the award. He also acknowledged
the award to Intercity Transit as being only the 2~d time this award had been
awarded in Washington State.
He attended the Transportation Policy Board meeting where members tackled
the vision reality of 20 years ago and the reality of today report.
Mayor Harding announced that he is the Grand Marshall in the parade that kicks
off the 3 day Prairie Days Celebration in the City Park and attended the
rededication of the Carlson Scout Cabin.
11. Executive Sessions -cancelled.
12. Correspondence included Comcast channel lineup changes. Pat Fetterly
added the Nisqually River Council job posting.
