We have reviewed the environmental checklist and related information. In our opinion, an environmental impact statement (EIS) is required on the proposal, because of the following impacts: Impacts to the transportation system, including vehicular and pedestrian traffic. You are being notified that we assume the responsibility of lead agency under SEPA, including the duty to prepare an EIS on the proposal. Proponent Yelm Community Schools Location of proposal Within the corporate limits of the City of Yelm, Washington Lead agency City of Yelm EIS Required. The lead agency has determined this proposal is likely to have a significant adverse impact on the environment. An environmental impact statement (EIS) is required under RCW 43.21C.030 (2)(c) and will be prepared. An environmental checklist or other materials indicating likely environmental impacts can be reviewed at our offices. The lead agency has identified the following areas for discussion in the EIS: Impacts to the transportation system, including vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Scoping. Agencies, affected tribes, and members of the public are invited to comment on the scope of the EIS. You may comment on alternatives, mitigation measures, probable significant adverse impacts, and licenses or other approvals that may be required. Written comments on the propsed scope of the EIS may be submitted to the Community Development Department at the address or email below no later than 21 days from the date of this determination of significance, which is May 6, 2004.
