Subject: Traffic Mitigation
Lorraine -
Below is a summary of the preliminary traffic mitigation measures that the City has discussed with
WSDOT and would expect to be included as part of the environmental review. Please note that, with
the exception of the off-site improvements, these comments are based on the impacts identified in the
expanded environmental checklist issued by the district last week. The 107th/Carter connection
and Mill Road frontage comments were made to the district during review of the draft document,
along with a request to look at impacts to traffic at the light with the possibility of an extended turn
lane or new light heads.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to give me a call at 458-8408.

High School -
/ Half street improvements to the urban arterial standard along the High School's SR 507
frontage.
/ A dedicated left turn lane on westbound SR 507 at 93rd Street.
/ A two way left turn from the end of the dedicated left turn at 93rd Street to 250 feet east of the
eastern access to the High School.
New Junior High School -
/ The connection of 107th and Carter Street as a public street.
/ A 250 foot dedicated left turn lane on southbound SR 507 at Carter Street (the developer of
Hawks Landing is required to construct a 100 foot dedicated left turn lane at this location, the
district would extend it 150 additional feet).
/ Half street improvements to the neighborhood collector standard along Mill Road.
/ Review of the traffic at Mill Road with and without the connection of Carter/107th to determine
if the realignment of the intersection is warrented.
Off-site Improvements -
/ Restripe SR 507 west of the intersection of SR 507 and SR 510 (Yelm Avenue and First
Street) to extend the center turn lane to Edwards Street with a dedicated left turn to at least
Railroad Avenue.
