Correspondence: Yelm School District / contractors and Myself: October 24, 2007: From Steve Harrington I called Rocky of Yelm School District to ask about the status of punchlist items and when he planned on having all items complete and call to set up a walk thru.  He said they are going to have a walk thru scheduled for October 31, 2007 at 8:00 a.m.  I told him I was not aware of this walk thru and he will need to call me and schedule it for the various departments within the city.  He gave me a run down of what is left to complete. Ridgeline:  Storm pond is under construction. Striping of parking lot (Stalls).  He is going to recount the number of stalls. Sewer has been resolved.  Wood & Son’s have completed vac test and floats are done. No offsite drawings approved by WSDOT yet for SR-507. High School:  Electrical disconnect is done.  Per the contractor. 2 – Pumps installed are working. Bid awarded to N.W. Cascade to replace Tank. 300-500 Building needs bollards (This area is gated) No parking in this area. Butt connector & wire nuts done on sewer. Disconnect for sewer has been drilled for padlock. Contractor has told him all items will be complete by October 31, 2007.  Rocky is going to notify all contractors, that all work will have to be completed by the 31st of October, 2007.  I informed Rocky that if all work is completed before then, to call me and schedule a walk thru, so we can look at the items before then and any repairs or fixes can be completed before Oct. 31. Thanks, October 25, 2007: From Rocky Stan & Ray, I received a call from Steve Harrington at the City of Yelm regarding the status of the puchlists for Yelm High School and Ridgeline Middle School. Steve requested a date that the City could reinspect the sites. Steve also reminded me that the Temporary Occupancy expires on Oct. 31 2007. Groff did have an Electrician on site at YHS today and he indicated that he would be at RMS this afternoon. I can only assume that all of the electrical issues have been completed. Still remaining are two sewer issues at RMS. Please pass this on to the contractors to insure completion not later than Oct. 31, 2007. Rocky October 25, 2007: From Gary Gonzales of Groff Electric Ray/Mike We are on both sites today replacing disconnects on the Yelm project and punchlist items at Ridgeline. It seams that the City of Yelm has decided that they want 3-pole disconnects in lieu if the single pole disconnects that they originally asked for. Also someone (not Groff) has drilled out all of the handles of the existing disconnects that were provided. Who is the phantom that is tampering with my equipment?  I am really starting to get tired of all the B.S that I have taken from this City and I feel that I have gone the extra mile and expense trying to accommodate them. I will talk to Kirk tonight to see where he is regarding their punch list and their dream list (Which changes daily)and will advise you in the morning or maybe late tonight. October 25, 2007: Ray Mow of Erickson McGovern PLLC Mike / Gary, Please advise on the status of the City’s punchlist for YHS. Thank you, Raymond Mow, AIA Associate Erickson McGovern PLLC Ray@EricksonMcGovern.com October 30, 2007: From Rocky Gary, Steve, I was informed today that all punchlist items remaining at YHS, with the exception of the 400 building tank replacement, are complete and ready for inspection. Thank You Erling Birkland November 1, 2007: From Rocky Gary, The City of Yelm and I reviewed the punchlist at the high school today and found the following: Several of the butt splices in the tanks A & B and in the tank behind the auto shop have damage to the insulation. It appears as if the crimping tool may have punctured the vinyl insulation. In addition, wire nuts are used in the explosion proof j-box for all wiring. The issue of not using a butt splice only pertains to the connection of multiple conductors. The two wire connections are required by City Sewer Standards to be connected with a heat shrink butt splice. As soon as the damaged butt splices are replaced and the wire nuts for the two wire connections are replaced with butt splices I believe we are complete in regard to the City sewer electrical punchlist. November 1, 2007: From Steve Harrington Jim:  Rocky called me first thing this morning.  I asked him about Ridgeline punchlist.  He said according to his contractors, the city has come out and did all the inspections and everything is done.  Rocky was not aware of any such inspections, he was never informed of one.  I asked Rocky if it would be possible for everyone (City, School Dist. and Contractors) to come in and sit down at the table to discuss all issues at the schools and get it all out in the open and find out what needs to be completed and get an at tentative schedule from everyone when items will be completed.  Rocky thinks that would be great.  The following is Rocky’s schedule: Today:  Afternoon Mon:  Morning or Afternoon Tues: Afternoon Wed: Morning He is on vacation from Wednesday until the 15th. If there is anyway we could make this afternoon work, that would probably be best, so it will give us time to get issues taken care of before he leaves on vacation?  Maybe you could talk to Tim this morning when you meet with him then we can schedule something with Rocky, let me know. Thanks, November 2, 2007: From Steve Harrington Rocky: I only had 2 issues from our dept.  Sewer still has issues. Randy Hatch is going to go out to the middle school and look at what needs to be completed, then he will let me know.  We could probably meet at the middle school this afternoon? November 2, 2007: From Rocky Steve, Unfortunately I will be out of the district this afternoon. Perhaps we could meet either Monday or Tues. of next week. Rocky November 2, 2007: From Rocky Steve, Do we still want to schedule a meeting at RMS? Rocky November 2, 2007: From Steve Harrington I will look into it November 2, 2007: From Steve Harrington Grant:  Jim asked me to give you more detail on what I had discovered on the parking lot striping for Ridgeline Middle School.  When out in the field with Nisha, we measured the compact stalls (they are correct) along with adjacent stalls and found some odd ball sizes (see attachment).  The compact stalls were put in correctly, per plans.  There are 20 parking stalls not put in correctly per plans.  They are the wrong size.  I scaled these and compared them to field measurements.  If you have any further questions I will explain it to you or show you on the plans. Thank you, The following is taken from the memo I typed and e-mailed to you. Ridgeline Middle School Walk Thru November 1, 2007 Grant:  Nisha and I went out to Ridgeline Middle School to check the 2 items from our department on the punchlist.  They have not completed these two punchlist items per plans.  There are callouts on these items that appear to refer to the wrong drawing sheets for details.  These two items that remain to be completed are as follows: Maintenance Driveway Entrance to South Ball Fields from Parking Lot is not complete. Explanation: Maintenance Road Plan is on sheet C 1.5 not sheet C 2.14 Parking Lot Striping is not per plans, they are not per scale and do not match. Explanation: Drawing Plan Sheet C 4.0 calls for a quantity of 20 parking stalls measuring 9’ wide x 20’ long. These 20 stalls have been striped correctly. They measure 9’ wide x 18’ long (not per plan). There is a note referring to striping detail (C 2.10) there is no detail (C 2.10) however there is a striping detail (4-24) on sheet C 1.5 Sheet C 1.2 gives the layout for the parking lot striping. Parking lot stalls are not sized per plan. November 7, 2007: From Chris Hansen Stan, I received a telephone call just minutes ago from Steve with the City of Yelm. He is has questions as to the completion of three items at RMS. 1. Parking stalls adjacent to the compact parking stalls are not installed per plan. 2. Ball field maintenance road not installed per plan. 3. Questions concerning wiring with the septic systems. Stan, Rocky is out for the next week and I am not versed on all that is going with project completion. If you can email Steve back (or call 360.458.3835) maybe we can get some of the items in question cleared up and completed. Please cc Rocky and me for future reference. Thanks, Chris November 13, 2007: From Grant Beck Steve -   Chris Hanson called to check in with you to see if Stan Z. has gotten back to you about your email regarding Ridgeline...  his number is 458-6130 or 239-8816.   Grant November 13, 2007: Steve Harrington I called Chris Hansen of the Yelm School District. He asked me if I had heard from Stan of Erickson McGovern. I informed Chris that I had not heard from them. He said he would call them and find out about the status of the punchlist items. Chris has also informed me that the concrete maintenance road was completed today, he said the concrete is still green. Chris will be back in touch with me as soon as he gets in touch with Erickson McGovern and talks with Stan. November 13, 2007: Chris Hanson Chris called me to inform me that he has talked with Stan of Erickson McGovern, Stan had told Chris that he had spoke to Josh Miller of Jody Miller Construction and was told by Josh, that they are working on the punchlist items.
