It appears as if the crimping tool may have punctured the vinyl insulation. In addition, wire nuts are used in the explosion proof j-box for all wiring. The issue of not using a butt splice only pertains to the connection of multiple conductors. The two wire connections are required by City Sewer Standards to be connected with a heat shrink butt splice. As soon as the damaged butt splices are replaced and the wire nuts for the two wire connections are replaced with butt splices I believe we are complete in regard to the City sewer electrical punchlist.
