Email re Redlines 001Jerry Waldron From: Jim Gibson ~img@ci.yelm.wa.us] Sent: Wednesday, December 12, 2007 11:53 AM To: Jerry Waldron; kfoley@baselinetacoma.com Ca Tami Merriman Subject: RE: Rainer View Kevin and Jerry - 1. Please keep the water at 92" of depth and raise the sewer to 6' of cover. You can then sleeve the sewer main with a 20' length of pipe centered on the crossing and call out a sand cushion between the two mains. We have had some disagreements in our offices and it showed in the review comments. Please make the change as I have requested and I will approve this method. 2. Ok to add the note. 3. Please just add a note for the contractor to purchase the sign from the Public Works Department. This sign is not a standard sign and special to the City of Yelm. If you have any further questions please email me. Jim Gibson P.E. The 11/9/07 review states de Elections are not allowed. The comments also state that the step system should be at 6'. The pipe was designed at 7' to avoid utility conflicts. If the sewer is raised 1', we will eliminate the bends in the step system but we will need some flexibility with the water main. What is the maximum cover requirements for the water main if we redesign the plans (make the sewer shallower and make the water deeper) to avoid conflicts and meeting vertical DOE clearance standards. (2)In regards to Water Comment No. 6, we are proposing this general note: Contractor shall verify that the existing gate valve meets City of Ye1m standards prior to connection. (3) Engineering Comment No. 3, I not able to find a MUTCD standard for the future road connection at the end o£ the cul-de-sac. We are proposing to place a sign on the proposed fence stating, "FUTURE ROAD CONNECTION" with the dimensions equivalent to MUTCD R2-1 (Speed Limit Sign). Clarifications on these issues would expedite our the resubmittal and approval far this project. Jerry Jerry Waldron, P.E.
