Jeff checked it today and we have an 11+ foot lane. ________________________________ From: Severson, Dale Sent: Friday, February 20, 2009 9:02 AM To: Bennett, Steve Subject: FW: SR507 Carter/Brighton: existing lane striping approval ________________________________ From: Severson, Dale Sent: Tuesday, February 10, 2009 4:06 PM To: Bennett, Steve; Kim, Steve; Moore, Jeff Cc: Villnave, Michael; Peterson, Robin; McNutt, John; Terry, James; MacAuley, Terry Subject: SR507 Carter/Brighton: existing lane striping approval Question - on my Yelm School District Developer Agreement that is almost complete they are asking if they need to re-stripe a 800 foot long edge line or can they leave it as is? The PFA specified 12 lanes with a 4 foot shoulder (first attachment). Because the widening was to the east, they had planned to just restripe / move the southbound right edge line almost a foot. But they didn't restripe the edge line and we now have a 11 foot + southbound thru lane with a 5 foot shoulder (see second attachment). So per the second attachment we still have the proper pavement width with basically 11 foot lane and 5 foot shoulder, just not the PFA 12 foot lane and 4 foot shoulder. So the question is can we just leave it like that? My vote would be leave it like that if only to not have the ghost lines showing we moved the line less than a foot. If we still want the line moved they will. It's about 800 that would be restriped and moved less than a foot. Terry MacAuley of the Mat Lab supports leaving it like it is to not have the stripe removal ghost lines. And Terry said the next paver out there is around 2012 to 2015 so it could be restriped back to 12 and 4 foot shoulder then. So can make this call? Steve K and Steve B side of the shop? Also, technically this is under John McNutt's control since they are still under construction so I am only helping the design consultant with their question. The PFA called for a 12 ft lane and the existing is just over 11 ft. I would appreciate a quick response if possible.
