School Construction project (Land Use Case No. SPR-04-0180-YL) located at 10605 Mil] Road
Southeast as proposed by Yelm Community Schools. We reviewed the application notice and have
[he following comments:
WATER QUALITY: Margaret Hill (360) 407-0246
Erosion control measures must be in place prior to any clearing grading, or constme[ion. These
control measures must be effective [o prevent s[ormwater runoff from carrying soil and other
pollmants into surface water or storm drains that lead to waters of [he state. Sand, silt, clay particles,
and soil will damage aquatic habitat and are considered to be pollutants.
Any discharge ofsediment-laden runoff or other pollutants to waters of the state is in violation of
Chapter 90.48, Water Pollution Control, and WAC 173-201 A, Water Quality Standards far Surface
Waters of [he State of Washington, and is subject to enforcement action.
During conshuctiou, all releases of oils, hydraulic fluids, fuels, other petroleum products, paints,
solvents, and other deleterious materials must be contained and removed in a manner that will prevent
their discharge to waters and sods of the state. 'fhe cleanup of spills should take precedence over other
work on the site.
