Please see his comments below and lets plan to get together next week to discuss and finalize (yes, finalize) this design. I am available Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning next week. Clint - I spoke with Tim P. about connecting to the City meter at the Park and it is doable. If you are out this way, stop by and I will show you where Tim and I think the unit should go and how to tie in to power. Thanks, Grant ________________________________ From: Dan Weiss [mailto:Dan.Weiss@tauruspower.biz] Sent: Wednesday, June 11, 2008 12:24 PM To: Tim Peterson Subject: Booster Pump Station Tim, In response to your question the other day about the booster pump station.... Using only one control system does make more sense and reduces the parts count. Assuming quality components, the more parts you have, the higher the probability of some failure. You already know that PLC will be an Allen-Bradley Micrologix 1500. We would propose the following for controlling the pump system. 1. Utilize the same pump skid that you want, with manufacturer installed pressure sensors at each pump, inlet, and outlet. 2. Use ONE Control Enclosure to house both the Motor Controls, and PLC system. This would be equivalent to the example 4 pump system. This would include the RTU PLC System. This would include our recommended Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 400 VFD which is designed for pump applications. This would include Manual Auto Operators, Lights, and a PanelView Plus 1000 or 1500 (10" or 15") 3. This way the entire controls (i.e.- software program) is available through the Allen-Bradley programming environment making maintenance, troubleshooting, and modifications easier. 4. More process data is them available to send back to the master for better monitoring and alarming of site conditions. 5. City would have more control of the process due to access to PLC, and understanding of Allen-Bradley PLC's If you would like to discuss more specifics, let me know and I will make a hole in my schedule to call and discuss tomorrow or Friday.
