As a point of clarification, the dimensions shown on the draft drawing
were a minimum enclosure envelope. The enclosure proposed by GC Systems
(Safe-T-Cover Model 600TDS-AL) is somewhat larger than the dimensions
provided on the draft drawing, and has a manufacturer's recommended pad
size. If no one has any objections to the enclosure, my intent is to
provide the manufacturer's recommended pad size, and offset the
pad/enclosure around the piping as Clint suggests for the best possible
access and clearances around the components.

Jim,
If we use an aluminum enclosure, the pad size and enclosure size are
somewhat conflicting. We may want to offset the pad relative to the
assembly so there is uniform clearance around all components. We have
been working with PumpTech and GC Systems to quote an enclosure and
assembly. We should have that information later today.

Clint -
Did you have any comments or concerns about the preliminary layout for
PSV? If not I am going to have Parametrix finalize the plan. Could you
attach a cut sheet of the cover that you were proposing to use to cover
this installation? If I can get this information to Parametrix today
they think they can get this all finalized by the end of the week.
Please let me know your thoughts.

Clint -
Attached is the “preliminary” site plan for the PSV. Please take a look
at this and lets get together next week to discuss before you order a
cover for this installation. I want to make sure PW is ok with the
cover and layout before you commit to ordering something.

Hi Jim,
Please find attached a draft mechanical plan (half-size) for the
Forrester Heights Pressure Sustaining Valve Station. An approximate
enclosure footprint/envelope is shown to assist KPFF in selecting
enclosure(s) for review. As I noted earlier, the enclosure envelope
could vary depending on the level of access the proposed enclosure will
provide (e.g. doors on one side vs. gull-wing, etc.). Please call if
you have any questions. Have a good weekend!

Hi Jim,
We should have a drawing with the approximate enclosure footprint to you
by the end of the day. The final footprint will vary somewhat depending
on the level of access the selected enclosure allows, but the drawing
should be enough for KPFF to select an alternative or two for us to look
at.

Randy -
I wanted to check in and see how the final design is going? Do you have
a final size for the foot print of the cover? Steve Chamberlain wants
to get this cover ordered as soon as possible. Thanks for the help.

Hi Jim,
After extensive discussion with GC Systems, the local company which
represents both the Roll Seal valve and the Cla-Val control valve, they
will not provide service support for the roll seal valve in this
application. They recommend installation of a Cla-Val control valve.
This valve is larger than the roll seal, but can be piloted in the same
manner as the roll seal would have. GC Systems will provide full
service support for the Cla-Val. I have spoken to Jon Yanasak, and he
supports this alternative. We will need to redraw the piping to
accommodate the larger valve so we can provide a minimum shelter
footprint to the developer. The valve itself will be roughly $500 more
expensive than the roll seal. Please call if you have any questions.
