RE: PALISADES WEST
Request for Signage Deviation
Dear Grant:
I am writing to request a deviation from the City of Yelm Signage standards for our Plat of
Palisades West. For background purposes, we were trying to utilize as much of the on-site
material as possible for this development, I directed Dan Lee to use one of the cedar trees on the
property as a chainsaw carving for the Signage. We hired a long-time, local Yelm resident Davey,
to carve the sign. They were both unaware that the City had a sign code limiting the size of the
letters for such a sign, The Signage sets the lane for the subdivision and has been landscaped to
blend in with the hillside. If the size of the letters is reduced, it will be unreadable from the road.
The current sign location is the only practical place for it because the pump station and storm pond
are located on either side of the entrance. We apologize for this error and ask the City of Yelm for
a deviation from the requirements so that the sign can remain as it is and in the current location.
Thank you for your consid ~n.
Very truly yo rs,
