SUBJECT: Trump Plat
301 Longmire Street
Tami,
I received the notice of the Notice of Application in reference to the Trump Plat. I live at 307 NW Longmire
Street, next to the proposed property development. I just want to voise my concerns and recommendation in
regards to the proposed project.
I am not against the proposal, however, my concerns are, when the new development was occuring across
the street of out home, we we unaware that the developers were going to be digging a 4 feet by 8 feet hole in
our front yard. In the process of digging said hole they happen to cut our phone line coming into our house.
We had to go to a nighbor home and call the Yelm Telephone Company to come fx our phone line because
some did not check with the City to verify where the underground wires were at.
My second wncern is the construction phase. The construction across the street would some times go late
into the night, after 10 pm. I am assuming this will not happen on this construction site.
RECOMMENDATION:
Since the request is asking for to vacate "Van Trump Rd". I am requesting that the proposed street name
"Trump" be changed to the property owners who sold the property and have lived in the City of Yelm for over
ffty years. The Name proposed for the new street would be "CRIMMINS ST".
Loren Crimmins has been an outstanding citizen of Yelm since the 1940's. He was named "Thurston County
Citizen of the Year" in 1983. He was in the top ten the previous two years. His contributions to the
Community of Yelm and it's citizens were the reason he was named Citizen of the Year from the Thurston
County Kiwanis. He was very active in the following organizations: Senior Citizens Center, UCBO, Lutheran
Church, Deschutes' Grange, Yelm Cemetery, Yelm FFA, Yelm Schools, Little League, Nisqually Valley Moose
Lodge, American League, Yelm's Veterans and several others organizations. Several of the Yelm City Council
Members know Loren frst hand.
This request is nothing short of asking the City of Yelm, to honor one of it's owns Citizens, with the respect
that this Outstanding Citizen should receive.
