1201 Crystal Ct NW 032219 City of Yelm 105 Yelm Avenue West Yelm, WA 98597 (360) 458-3835   March 22, 2019 Steve Uribe 1201 Crystal Ct NW Yelm, WA 98597 RE: Motor Homes as a Residences- 1201 Crystal Court NW The City of Yelm’s has been in contact with you regarding a motor home located on your property that is currently being used as a permanent residence along with the addition of a second motor home. Within the city limits of Yelm, a motor home or Recreational Vehicle is not allowed to be used as a residence and is a violation of the Yelm Municipal Code. “Recreational vehicle” means a vehicle which is: 1. Built on a single chassis; 2. Four hundred square feet or less when measured at the largest horizontal projection; 3. Designed to be self-propelled or towable by a light-duty truck; and 4. Designed primarily not for use as a permanent dwelling but as temporary living quarters for recreational, camping, travel, or seasonal use. All vehicles of this type left unscreened, especially unlicensed and/or inoperable ones, are a violation of the following Yelm Municipal Code. 10.20.010 Time limits. No “unlicensed and/or inoperable motor vehicle,” as such term is defined in RCW Title 46, shall be stored on any premises within the city for a period exceeding 30 days, unless the same is stored within an enclosed structure. Violations hereof shall be attributed to the owner or owners of record of the real property. (Ord. 367 § 1, 1990). All vehicles deemed a violation of the Yelm Municipal Code shall be removed from the property on March 31, 2019 by 5PM. After this time, the City of Yelm will be forced to further code enforcement action including but not limited to the issuances of civil penalties of up to $250.00 per violation, per day of violation, and possibly further enforcement through court of competent jurisdiction.
