At 1:30 pm today four public works employees, Michael Grayum, Chief Stancil, Sergeant Carlson, and I boarded up the property located at 15929 Quail Meadows Ct SE.
Despite a Do Not Occupy notice being posted on March 5, 2018 Christine Alford, her son, and another young woman were found occupying the property. Sergeant Carlson spent approximately
20 minutes speaking to Christine Alford through a front window convincing her and the other illegal occupants to voluntarily vacate the property to avoid an arrest for trespassing.
Michael Grayum and I attempted to offer Christine Alford a proposal that would assist her in cleaning up the property with a possibility of getting the water turned back on. The proposal
would require a lien on the property, which would cover the delivery, use, and removal of a dumpster fronting her property. The agreement would expect she provide the labor necessary
to remove the garbage and household items that have accrued on the property.
If a good faith effort was perceived the city would have the water service to the residence would be back turned on with a further lien on the property.
Christine Alford informed us that she was being foreclosed on in May of 2018 and was not interested in having a lien on the property. The proposal will be offered to her again in hopes
that a resolution that improves the property can be reached.
