Re: Unscreened Swimming Pool and Household Items in Yard
The City of Yelm has noted an unscreened swimming pool as well as an accumulation of garbage and household items on the property located at 204 Stevens Ave NE.
The property is in violation of Yelm Municipal Code 9.44.020 ‐ 7. Trash, litter, weeds or grass, rags, accumulation of empty barrels, boxes, crates, packing cases, mattresses, bedding,
excelsior, packing straw, or other packing materials, lumber not piled, scrap iron, abandoned stoves, kitchen appliances, tin and other metal not neatly piled, or anything whatsoever
in which flies or rats may breed or multiply or which may be a fire danger.
Per 2015 International Building Code
3109.4 Residential Swimming Pools ‐ Residential swimming pools shall be completely enclosed by a barrier complying with Sections 3109.4.1 through 3109.4.3.
3109.4.1 Barrier height and clearances ‐ The top of the barrier shall be not less than 48 inches above grade measured on the side of the barrier that faces away from the swimming pool.
The vertical clearance between grade and the bottom of the barrier shall not be greater than 2 inches measured from the side of the barrier that faces away from the swimming pool.
3109.4.1.1 Openings ‐ Openings in the barrier shall not allow the passage of a 4‐inch diameter sphere.

Re: Unscreened Swimming Pool
The City of Yelm has previously notified you in regards to an unscreened swimming on the property located at 204 Stevens Ave NE.
The code violations remain and will result in fines imposed upon you for non‐conformance. The unscreened swimming pool is considered an attractive nuisance in that unattended minors
are granted unrestricted access to the pool which creates a hazard to the general public.
The City of Yelm now demands a plan shall be submitted no later than October 15, 2018 by 5PM to avoid any further disciplinary action by the city.
