Rochester 208 Van Trump St NE Yelm, WA 98597 RE: Motor Home as a Residence- 208 Van Trump St NE It has come to the City of Yelm’s attention that a motor home is located on your property that is currently being used as a permanent residence. Within the city limits of Yelm, a motor home or Recreational Vehicle is not allowed to be used as a residence and is a violation of the Yelm Municipal Code. “Recreational vehicle” means a vehicle which is: 1. Built on a single chassis; 2. Four hundred square feet or less when measured at the largest horizontal projection; 3. Designed to be self-propelled or towable by a light-duty truck; and 4. Designed primarily not for use as a permanent dwelling but as temporary living quarters for recreational, camping, travel, or seasonal use. The storage of this vehicle on the property is also in violation of our Yelm Municipal Code. 10.20.010 Time limits. No “unlicensed and/or inoperable motor vehicle,” as such term is defined in RCW Title 46, shall be stored on any premises within the city for a period exceeding 30 days, unless the same is stored within an enclosed structure. Violations hereof shall be attributed to the owner or owners of record of the real property. (Ord. 367 § 1, 1990). The illegal use and of this vehicle as a residence and illegal storage must cease to avoid any further disciplinary actions from the city, including but not limited to fines up to $250.00 per violation, per day of violation and possible further enforcement actions through court of competent jurisdiction. We will be monitoring the situation and demand to see resolution by February 18, 2019 to consider this matter resolved. Extended until March 5, 2019.
