Box 869 Yelm, WA 98597 Re: Early Morning Parking Dear Mr. Overton, Since your complaint early in June the City of Yelm has been monitoring the puking situation on Yelm Avenue East between First and Third Streets, with a primary emphasis on the available parking at Yelm Avenue East and Second Street. Our investigation, culminating with today's review and photo record (see attached), finds no evidence of a parking problem at 7:00 am. As a rile we have found that there has been occasional parking on Second Street both North and South, no parking in front of the Senior Center or Bowling Alley and occasional parking on the North Side of Yelm Avenue East. We agree with you that the parking is concentrated in from of your door and the exercise door. During today's visit there were 6 cars with room for 2 more. However, this does not constitute a parking problem. There appears to be ample parking within 1 block, in any direction from your business, for your patrons. You will note that picture #5 shows a patron of yours entering the restaurant at approx. 7:10 am after parking her blue car at the comer. Based on our review we find that there is adequate parking and the City will take no further action at this time. In the past you have enjoyed access to unlimited public parking, however, as new businesses come, demand for public parking will increase and will be available on a first come first served basis. I talked with one of her trainers. They do not have classes, they open at 6 am. And have their peak at 9 am. of 7 to 10 ladies. They have their people park at layhawks, Yelm Tel and in the 3 spots behind their shop. I asked Yvonne to can me when she is back some time next week. The only solution I see is parking meters. Are we ready? Thank yon, Gary A A l!al "CAP m TT
