Before your occupancy, the building was used as an accessory building (garage), that was clearly incidental to the residential use of the lot. While your auto glass business is an allowed use in the C-1 Zoning District, conversion of a residential use to a commercial use requires compliance with current City Codes. To bring your building and business into compliance with the Yelm Municipal Code, you must obtain land use, civil plan, and building plan approval. Please contact our office to make an appointment to meet with us. At that meeting, we will provide you with the information you need to proceed with securing the correct permits. Use of a building without compliance with Chapter 17, Zoning, is a violation of the Yelm Municipal Code. To avoid further action by the City, your immediate response to this letter is required.
