Diana:
This is a follow-up to our conversation of Friday, October 4, 2002, regarding an annexation to the City of Yelm in which the maps do not reflect the legal description of the property
as found in the annexation ordinance. This issue came up through a subdivision application of property which, it appeared, was partially within County jurisdiction.
Specifically, the legal description of the annexation effected by the City of Yelm via Ordinance Number 627 includes ‘Parcel “A” of Boundary Line Adjustment No. 0309 as recorded under
Auditor’s File no. 8510250041 in volume 3 of Boundary Line Adjustments, Pages 635 thru 639’. A portion of ‘Parcel A’, which is presently assigned tax parcel number 64303500300 by the
Thurston County Assessor’s Office, was excluded from the map prepared by the City and filed with the Annexation Certificate.
I have enclosed the Annexation Certificate, which includes Ordinance 627 and the erroneous map, Boundary Line Adjustment 0309, and a general reference map for your consideration.
The City believes that tax parcel 64303500300 is within the City Limits through the adoption of Ordinance 627 and is proceeding with the subdivision application at this time.
Thank you for taking a look at this issue, and please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need any additional information.
Sincerely,
Grant Beck, Director
