Dear Mike:
This letter is regarding the lot consolidation process in the City of Yelm, specifically as it relates to the three legal lots of record which comprise the site of the proposed Wal-Mart
in Yelm.
As we discussed, the City does not have a separate process to consolidate lots that were not created through the subdivision process as found in Chapter 58.17 RCW. Instead, the issuance
of a building permit with straddles a property line is the official mechanism utilized by the City to consolidate such legal lots of record.
At this time, the building permit for Wal-Mart is ready for issuance and the building in fact straddle the three legal lots of record which comprise the site. Upon issuance of the permit,
the City will consider the three lots to be legally consolidated.
Sincerely,
Grant Beck, Director
Department of Community Development
