City of Yelm Inspection Form 1 Wal-Mart Functional Test of Electrical - Control - Panel and Storm Water System City of Yelm CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS AND INSPECTION REPORT Date: 7/10/07 Day: Tuesday Time: 8:45 a.m.  Project Name: Yelm Wal-Mart Super Store Project Number SPR-05-0091-YL  Project Description: Wal-Mart Retail Store Contractor's Name: Contractor: Pac Land / Bird Construction / Wood & Son Construction / Paco Pumps / Hawkes Electric  1. Brief Weather Summary: (On earthwork jobs include soil conditions) Sunny, warm and clear. Wood & Son Construction, Paco Pumps Corey Rasmussen and Mark and Hawkes Electric Representative on site 9:10 a.m. We are on site to perform a functional test on the storm water system. Test will be performed on control panel, pumps and floats to verify operation and performance limits.  2. Contract Time: Last Working Day Charged (Date) Remaining Working Days  3. Description of Construction Phases (Include items such as clearing, grading, drainage, base, paving, surface, utilities, curb and gutter, sidewalk, etc.) Paco and Hawkes Electric are performing the test on the storm water system located in the Yelm Wal-Mart Super Store parking lot. Test # 1: During the testing of the small manhole pumps (Roof drain m.h.) to the infiltration system, a loud rattling noise was coming from the pumps. The pumps were not getting a good reading at the control panel; they were running at only 30%. It was discovered the pumps were not wired correctly in the control panel, they were wired backwards. This was corrected by wiring the pumps correctly in the control panel they are now running at 100%. The floats signal and alarm were tested at various stages, they were found to be working correctly at all levels. Test # 2: During the testing of the larger manhole pumps (parking lot storm water drainage m.h.) to the storage system, a loud rattling noise was coming from the pumps during this test also. The pumps were not getting a good reading at the control panel; they were running at only 30%. It was discovered the pumps were not wired correctly in the control panel, they were wired backwards. This was corrected by wiring the pumps correctly in the control panel they are now running at 100%. The floats signal and alarm were tested at various stages, they were found to be working correctly at all levels. In conclusion: Testing was completed around 10:15 a.m. All test performed showed lights, signals, alarms, floats and pumps were all functional and working satisfactorily. Wood & Sons Rep, Roland Gorgas said we may want to do a visual test again during a rain storm when ther is suffient storm water in the vaults.  4.
