Adding this 8000 Tank in a series will not solve our problem. All of the solids that enter the 1st (existing ) tank, will have more time to settle with the addition of this second tank
however, with the amount of solids generated by this facility we would still be pumping the solids tank at least every 6 weeks (est). The added detention time certainly will have an
impact and improved density of the solids will surely occur, but in the estimation of the Sewer Dept, based on 16 years of observing STEP Tank performance. This proposed ‘fix’ will have
little or no impact.
