05-0091 Review 5 Ltr 123008 City of Yelm Community Development Department 105 Yelm Avenue West P.O. Box 479 Yelm, WA 98597 January 15, 2009 Mike Beach Pacland 606 Columbia St NW Olympia, WA 98501 RE: Wal-Mart – Project Number SPR-05-0091-YL 5th Review of STEP Tank System Dear Mike, The City of Yelm has completed the third review of the proposed Wal-Mart Step Tank revisions. Your application included: Construction Plans We have reviewed the construction plans for compliance with the City of Yelm Development Guidelines, the Department of Ecology Criteria or Sewage Works Design Manual and National Electrical Code. Review Comments: Existing 8,000gal tank will need to be retrofitted with an outlet to Gravity flow into the new step tank. How will this be accomplished with the tank on line? It appears to be addressed but it must be absolutely clear that the outlet to the 8000 gallon tank must be adequately supported not only where the pipe goes through the wall of the tank but also at the end by the access riser where the tee is located. (Two separate support points). New 6000 gallon STEP tank needs to be tied down per C. O. Y. development guidelines and tank manufacturer’s recommendations. Existing 8000 gallon tank already has tie downs installed. New 8000 gallon tank per agreement with WAL-MART representative will be maintained by WAL-MART Corporation NOT by the city. Remove the “Maintained by City” from the 8,000 gallon holding tank. Place a note referring to item number 5 above, stating the 8,000 gallon tank is solely the responsibility of the Wal-Mart Corporation and will be maintained by the Wal-Mart Corporation. Please review the above comments and submit updated plans. If you have any additional questions or comments please do not hesitate to call or contact me at steveh@ci.yelm.wa.us.
