The loop is a 4.2 mile. two- Iane Corridor, to be posted at 45 PAPH. Design anti Environmental Work Elnderway In June of 2004, WSDOT retained Parametrix, an engineering, planning, and enuironmen#ai consulting firm, to update the Enuironmental Assessment (EA) and begin design of the SR 510 Loop. Tire Uriginal EA addressed the impacts of a route that included two individEeal segments, termed "Y2" (SR 507 South Yelm Lonpj and "Y3" (SR 510 hJorth Yelm Loop}, Together. the loops provide capacity, connectivity, system linkage, and enhanced freight mobility for the transportation net.,~or k in the Yelm area. because the two Ioops are part of one planned corridor, the EA will be reviewed and updated far the entire route, even though only the SR 510 segment is funded for design. Next Steps The funding WSDOT received to begin the design work is not sufficient to finalize the design package, nar is it intended for right-af-way acquisition or construction. At this time, no additional funding leas been identified, and the future - and a construction start date - is uncertain. tt~tfipOT and the City of Yeim continue to work to find funding so That ttae project can maintain momentum.
