CLARIFICATION OF Review No. 2 of Civil Construction Documents

You contacted me October 25t" to discuss the comment letter dated October 23, 2007.
You were concerned with comments 11-19 of the letter. I have reviewed the comments
and have responded to each one below. I have listed the original comment first and
added any additional comments after the fact.
Engineering Comments:
11. Item number 24 from the previous review # 1 comments list, the infiltration pond
elevation is at 346 this only 2 feet higher than the high ground water. This does
not meet the City of Yelm or the 1992 D.O.E. requirements. This is a valid
comment.
12. Item number 30 from the previous review # 1 comments list, the bottom of the
wet pond elevation does not meet the required 6 feet of separation between the
high ground water mark and bottom of wet pond. This does not meet the City of
Yelm or the 1992 D.O.E. requirements. The wet pond does not need to meet
the same required 6 feet of separation as the infiltration pond. Please make
sure the wet pond is designed with a liner that meets the stormwater
manual.
13. Item # 44 from the previous review # 1 comments, the pavement design should
be submitted on the current set of civil plans being reviewed. This is a valid
comment. It was not submitted under a separate cover as stated in the
response letter.
14. Item # 45 from the previous review # 1 comments, the wet pond does not meet
separation requirements. Please see response from item No 12.
15. Item # 49 from the previous review # 1 comments, should this be included in the
step sewer plans? Step sewer has an end of line clean out, water lines have
blow-offs. The call out should be shown on the design not the system map.

16. Item # 66 from the previous review # 1 comments, clean out detail # 7-20 has
been added to sheet 11 of 13 not, sheet 13. The detail was added to sheet
11. This is acceptable as long as it is in the plan set.
17. Item # 71 from the previous review # 1 comments, please add Backflow Devices
Detail to the water detail sheet 12 of 13. This is a valid comment. Please add
to the plan.
18. In the Drainage Report II Section 1 -Project Description Storm Water BMP's you
describe the use of a Bio-Infiltration Swale. Has this been eliminated from the
project? This is a valid comment.
19. Note 7 of Sheet 4 of 13 Grading and Drainage Plan sheet, mentions the use of
an oil /water separator. I do not see one implemented on the plans. Please add
the Oil /Water separator to the plan sheet. It appears the reviewer took the
standard note as a direction to the contractor. This comment should be
omitted from the review.
