Re: Request for Connection to City of Yelm Water Service
Per your request for water service, I have the following information.
The Site Plan Approval for Del's Farm Supply is to connect to City water service and
abandon the existing well on-site. It is the policy of the City of Yelm to require connections
to service lines that front your property, and not allow "cross country" connections.
There is an existing waterline located on the north side of SR 507 that runs past your
property frontage. This line was installed by a previous development, and there is a
latecomer fee associated with the property. To connect to the City of Yelm water service on
SR 507, the following must occur.
^ Connection to the water main in SR 507 will require crossing SR 507.
^ Payment of the latecomer fee of $2,161.59
^ Payment of a water meter $300.00
^ Payment of a water connection $1,500
The City is willing to offer a different choice, which would be a temporary connection. This
would consist of service connection and meter located on Bald Hill Road. The service line
would then run through the Del's Farm Supply property, and may be connected to the
existing water lines that serve your building. This temporary connection would be in effect
until such time that your property is subject to a Site Plan Review permit (redeveloped, or
substantially expanded), or in the event that SR 507 is improved, and the water service
connection to SR 507 would become available to you. In this instance, connection to City
water service the following is required.
^ Payment of the latecomer fee of $2,161.59
^ Payment of a water meter $300.00
^ Payment of a water connection $1,500
This information is being provided to the property owner and representative of Del's Farm
Supply. The details of the installation of the water meter, lines and connections, as well as
possible easements for your water line should be determined, and plans submitted to the
City for review.
