Summary of Meeting with City of Yelm, Jan. 2, 2008

DISCUSSION
Phasing was identified by the client as necessary for continuous
operation of the Dental Clinic during construction and and for minimal
transition time from the existing building to the new building.
[see my 12/19/07 email for initial phasing concept and sketch]
Phasing the site was discussed in order to gain an understanding of
whether or not the City will allow the concept of phasing with temporary
parking.
Paul indicated it will take approximately 30-60 days to demo the
existing Clinic and pave and landscape to get final approval and
certificate of occupancy.
Nisha indicated that the concept of temporary parking at the adjacent
apartments owned by the Shermans or across Solberg street along the
gravel shoulder is potentially approveable but will need to be reviewed
in a formal engineering submittal. No signage is allowed at the High
school gravel shoulder across Solberg.
The City will grant a temporary certificate of occupancy in order to
allow use of the new building prior to the completion of parking and
landscaping. A final C.O. will be granted upon full completion of the
approved plans.
CITY ENGINEERING SUBMITTAL
The following will need to be submitted to the City for review or
considered during construction:
1. Indicate what is being phased
2. Indicate the time periods for each phase
3. Provide a plan to provide temporary parking for staff and patients
and indicate parking locations and count at each phase
4. Identify and create ADA accessible paths from parking to the entry
of the existing and new clinics at each phase
5. Ensure all utilities (I.e.: sewer, storm, water, power) to to be
installed and approved for each phase the Clinic is in operation.
6. Staging and Job trailer areas identified during each phase
I suggest BCRA sketch up a plan for all to review and comment upon and
for Sarah and Judd to review.
BCRA will transmit an additional service letter for this added scope.
