Stevens Pump Control panel Rocky, Is this enough for you to go with to the city? =========================================================================== From: Morgan Shinstine [mailto:Morgan@shinstine.com] Sent: Friday, February 27, 2009 2:34 PM To: Doug Jason Cc: Aaron Emery; Kelly DuCommun; Rocky Birkland Subject: FW: Ft. Stevens Pump Control panel Doug: Please take a look at the attached email. The only substitution made that required any approved by the City was the step-tank itself. The panel supplied is by Orenco System; the same manufacturer that is specified on the plans for the pump vault, valve assembly, and float switch assemble. The City of Yelm Step Tank System requirements, which can be viewed at [ http://www.ci.yelm.wa.us/ ]www.ci.yelm.wa.us, show the identical control panel details that are included in the Fort Stevens Civil plans, in particular Drawing 7-6 on Sheet C2.2. None of the information in the City’s requirement or on the Fort Stevens drawings indicate a counter on the panel. Please refer to your copies of the approved sitework submittal, the City of Yelm approved step-tank drawings are included, as well as a Orenco Systems Panel Wiring Diagram, which does not indicate a counter. Let me know what you think. Thanks. Morgan Shinstine Shinstine/Assoc. Stevens Pump Control panel Rocky, See Scott’s comments below. When the contractor substituted the tank and went to the city for approval, we were kind out of the loop. We would need to see what the city approved and their comments to verify if the counters were originally requested in the city’s review. I wish I could be more helpful. Morgan should review the comments with his sub to verify the condition, then we can go from there. I hope to be down this week to see the floor coverings and review the overall progress since we did our punch list. Doug =========================================================================== From: Scott Severs [mailto:Scott@JWMorrissette.com] Sent: Wednesday, February 25, 2009 1:48 PM To: Doug Jason Cc: Erling Birkland; Trent Lougheed Subject: RE: Ft. Stevens Pump Control panel The only approved item that I have from the City other than the signed approved construction drawings is the request by the contractor to go with a different tank manufacturer. This information was sent to our office which we took a look at and sent it back to the contractor indicating that the change would need to be accepted by the City. The plans are very clear that the STEP System shall be constructed in accordance with the City of Yelm Development Guidelines. This is stated on the Civil Site Plan in the Conditions of Approval. Additionally we indicated on all STEP related product submittals that the Contractor would need to obtain the City of Yelm approval. If the installed pump control panel is not in accordance with the City’s Development Guidelines I would be asking the Contractor to produce an approved copy of the STEP System product submittals that have been approved by the City of Yelm or a letter that indicates the Pump Control Panel that was submitted meets the City’s requirements and signed by a City representative. Although I would like to solve this problem, the dispute is between the Contractor and the City. This issue needs to be turned over the Contractor to provide resolution. When I came on board the project had been approved by the city and construction had begun. -----Original Message----- From: Rocky Birkland [mailto:ebirkland@ycs.wednet.edu] Sent: Tuesday, February 24, 2009 2:22 PM To: Doug Jason Subject: Fwd: Ft. Stevens Pump Control panel Doug, Just a reminder regarding the septic pump at Ft. Stevens. If the installed control was accepted by the city prior to installation let me know. Please provide the signed acceptance and I will pursue the issue with the city. If it was not submitted to the city for acceptance the contractor will have to install the counters as required by the city. The flooring is being installed as we speak. I will let you know when it is complete. Rocky ----- Original Message ----- Tuesday, February 24, 2009 I’m Sorry it has taken a while to get this email off to you. As per our conversation last week the Pump Control Panel at Ft. Stevens School needs event counters for both pumps before the system can be finalled.
