At the pre-submission hearing on December 13, 2006 it was indicated that the Yelm School
District would be required to make street improvements and connect to the City sewer system.
After reviewing the costs associated with these requirements it has been determined that the
inclusion of these requirements will cause the district to either reduce the scope of or cancel
entirely the proposed project.
The school district is proposing that the City of Yelm allow the deferral of these requirements for
up to 10 years. The basis fora 10 year deferral is it would correspond to the projected need for
additional capital projects bonding. The cost of the referenced requirements would he included in
the proposed future bonds.
Please respond as soon as possible to insure the timely planning of this project.
Sincerely,
Erling Birkland
