1) ~ The inspector probed at all four sides of exterior wall sheathing for any evidence of rot fungus.
No evidence of rot fungus was found.
The inspector found moisture content ranging from fifteen percent to thirty percent present in
sheathing. The highest readings were found near the bottom edge on the South side.
See readings.

2) ®OPTIONS:
[A] Replace existing sheathing with new sheathing.
[B] Cover exterior with moisture barrier or house wrap. Heat home to seventy degrees.
[C] Install house wrap and siding now. Heat home to seventy degrees.
The inspector recommends option [C]. With siding installed the home will receive maximum protection
from the elements and at the same time the sheathing will dry out. The bottom courses of siding, or
band, should not be installed at this time as the portion of sheathing next to the rim joist will dry best
from the outside and needs to be assessable for moisture readings. House wrap should extend below
the bottom edge of sheathing during this drying period.
Further recommend that the wall insulation not be installed until moisture content of sheathing is
eighteen percent or less.

3) +~48 Bird feces [poop] is still present in home. This is an unsafe condition because bird feces
may contain pathogens harmful to humans. People with compromised immune system are particularly
at risk. Recommend that at a minimum all feces be scrapped, swept and otherwise removed from
home. The contractor and employees should use the proper rated respirators and gloves. After
removal, all contaminated areas should be sprayed with a mixture of one part bleach to six parts
water.
4) ®At the request of Mr. Satnam Singh and in the presence of Mr. John Rowland [City of Yelm
Building Inspector] the inspector returned to the property today to ascertain the moisture content of
wall sheathing. Over thirty moisture readings were taken at representative locations both inside and
outside the home. With the exception of Northeast bedroom corner, readings ranged from ten to
fifteen percent moisture content.

5) ®Moisture content as high as thirty percent was found present at Northwest bedroom corner.
Recommend Mr. Satnam Singh direct a propane heater to this corner to facilitate moisture removal
from sheathing. A contributing cause of high moisture content is that roof water is striking this area
from the outside. Recommend that a gutter with downspout be installed to direct roof water away.
See high moisture content corner and where gutter and downspout should be installed.

6) 8 On 04-19-10 at the request of Mr. Satnam Singh and in the presence of Mr. John Rowland
[ City of Yelm Building Inspector ]the inspector measured moisture content present in the Northeast
corner wall sheathing. The moisture content ranged from twelve percent to thirty percent.
Mr. Satnam Singh was advised to install a roof gutter that would divert water away from this corner
and to heat this area of sheathing from the inside to facilitate drying.
See Northeast corner and inside moisture readings.
