Box 479 Yelm, WA 98597   May 5, 2008 Tony Kantas Thurston County Development Services 2000 Lakeridge Drive SW Olympia, WA 98502-6045 Re: Project Number 2008100719 Dear Mr. Kantas: Thank you for the opportunity to review the above referenced permit application by Larry Mahan for a Special Use Permit to establish a 124-space RV Park and associated store to serve the RV Park located at 14136 Yelm Highway SE. Although the property is not within Yelm’s urban growth area, it is located very near its boundary. The City would like to express its concerns regarding this Special Use Permit application. Based on the Thurston County Geodata web-site, the property is zoned Rural Residential – One dwelling unit per five acres. Special uses are allowed per TCC20.54. The site is located at or adjacent to the entrance to the SR 510 Yelm Loop. The Washington State Department of Transportation is proposing a round-about at that location. Ingress and egress to the site may be an issue. The South Thurston County Coordinated Water System Plan adopted by the City of Yelm and Thurston County limits the approval of new water systems in unincorporated areas to satellite systems approved and managed by the City of Yelm.
