Reader Board Improvements Agenda Number of Yelm citizens served by our organization Community Organization • Roughly,120 Businesses are members of the Yelm Chamber • Monthly events, including Leads @ Lunch and Forums, are open to anyone wanting to network • Prairie Days Parade had roughly 2,500-3,000 attendees • BBQ Rally brings in roughly 10,000 guests • The majority of our events are open to the community. All of Yelm is offered a service by our organization How are we helping Yelm citizens? • We strive to facilitate economic development • We promote networking for professionals • Our sign helps elevate the aesthetics and value to Yelm • We foster community involvement with community -focused events • We offer marketing in support of local businesses • For this project, we would be partnering with the FFA for landscaping "Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success." - Henry Ford Our Need • New paint job for sign • Funding to update with new Chamber logo • Foliage, flowers, and landscaping Our Need ReplacemE behind the Our Need • Adding to the aesthetic value of this sign helps elevate our city, which affects all of our citizens. • It brings more value to the businesses marketed through the reader board as well. Would a lesser amount still help your organization? • Yes, any amount would help. • With $5000, we could still paint and landscape the area to beautify that part of Yelm. • With $2000, we could still add some landscaping. We would scale back the project. Adherence to Guidelines • Funding will be used for specific programs or services that provide direct benefit to the City of Yelm in which the funds were appropriated • Funded agencies will, if requested by the City Council, allow a Council Member or a Council -appointed representative to be a liaison to its board of directors ordinances • Funded agency will repay any funds that violate the stated purpose for receiving its appropriation "Strong communities are built on the foundation of active involvement, where businesses not only thrive but also contribute to the well- being and vibrancy of the area they serve."
