HomeMy WebLinkAbout09 09 2025 Regular Meeting MinutesEST. 1924 WASHINGTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES VIRTUAL AND IN PERSON TUESDAY, September 9, 2025 Call to Order: Mayor Joe DePinto called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. Roll Call: Tracey Wood, Joseph Richardson, Joshua Crossman, Stephanie Kangiser, Brian Hess, David Johnstone, Terry Kaminski, and Mayor Joe DePinto. Staff Present: City Administrator Todd Stancil, City Clerk Kathy Linnemeyer, Public Services Director Cody Colt and Communication & Recreation Coordinator Line Roy. APPROVAL OF THE Motion by Terry Kaminski to approve the agenda. AGENDA: Seconded by Stephanie Kangiser Motion carried 7-0 SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS: Communication & Recreation Coordinator Line Roy shared the new City of Yelm website, gave a recap of summer recreation programs and highlighted programs scheduled for 2026. CONSENTAGENDA: a)August 26, 2025, Regular Meeting Minutes b) September 2, 2025, Study Session Minutes Motion by Brian Hess approve the consent agenda. Seconded by David Johnstone Motion carried 7-0 NEW BUSINESS: Amendments 6 &7 to the Phase 2 Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) Upgrades Professional Services Agreement with Parametrix Motion by Tracey Wood to authorize Mayor DePinto to approve amendments 6 & 7 to the Phase 2 WRF upgrades agreement in the amount of $200,000 for work associated with the addition of a second bio dryer. Seconded by Brian Hess Motion carried 7-0 STANDING COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS: Public Safety Committee —Councilmember Hess gave a report of the items discussed at the Public Safety Committee. MAYOR/CITY ADMINISTRATOR/STAFF REPORTS: City Administrator —Gave department updates. Mayor DePinto —Attended a meeting with Experience Olympia & Beyond and the Thurston Regional Council meeting. He reported that he is trying to help the schools and wants to be good partners with them. He also reported that the school buses are not providing transportation to and from the Cherry Meadows neighborhood and that the city will be clearing the path that the kids use to get to school and purchasing crosswalk flags. COUNCILMEMBER REPORTS: Councilmember Wood—Attended the TCOMM meeting and will attend the transportation meeting tomorrow. Councilmember Kangiser— Attended the Chamber Forum. Councilmember Hess—Attended the Intercity Transit meeting, the Thurston County Chamber Foofaraw and addressed a letter to the City Council from a citizen regarding upcoming proposed annexations. Councilmember Johnstone—Attended the Regional Housing Committee meeting. ADJOURNMENT: Motion by Tracey Wood to adjourn the meeting at 6:38 PM.
