HomeMy WebLinkAbout08 05 2022 Study Session Minutesr.sT.1924 WASHINGTON CITY COUNCIL STUDY SESSION MEETING MINUTES VIRTUAL AND IN PERSON TUESDAY, August 5, 2025 Call to Order: Mayor DePinto called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM Roll Call: Tracey Wood, Joseph Richardson, Joshua Crossman, Stephanie Kangiser, Brian Hess, David Johnstone, Terry Kaminski, and Joe DePinto. Staff Present: City Administrator Todd Stancil, City Clerk Kathy Linnemeyer, and Public Services Director Cody Colt DISCUSSION ITEMS: Water Reclamation Facility/Sewer Department Updates — Public Services Director Cody Colt provided a presentation on the upgrades to the Water Reclamation Facility and discussed anticipated future improvements for the Sewer Department. Study Session Logistics — Mayor DePinto led a discussion regarding the logistics of Study Sessions, including the possibility of resuming recording and live streaming of the meetings, as well as whether to conduct the meetings from the dais or in a roundtable format. He emphasized the importance of increasing transparency. This item will be placed on a future agenda for further discussion and potential Council action. MAYOR REPORT— Will be working with the Public Safety Committee to discuss possible updates to the number of days that fireworks can be discharged in Yelm city limits. COUNCIL INITIATIVES Stephanie Kangiser — Asked about the status of the proposed Fuller Foot Path (activated alleyway) and would like to move it forward. Brian Hess — Asked Mayor DePinto about working with Joint Base Lewis McChord to coordinate a 99 -year lease for green space. Terry Kaminski —Asked if there were any updates regarding the 640 acres.
