YELM PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES
April 15, 2024 – 4:00 PM
YELM CITY HALL
Carlos Perez called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm.
Members present: Carlos Perez, Bob Howard, John Graver, Richard Lomsdale, Anne
Wahrmund, David Johnstone, and Austin Walker.
Members Absent: None absent.
Staff: Gary Cooper, Chris Vaccaro, Drew Kollar, and Hazel Hooker.
Approval of Minutes:MOTION BY BOB HOWARD, SECONDED BY RICHARD LOMSDALE, TO
APPROVE THE MARCH 18, 2024 MINUTES. ALL WERE IN FAVOR.
City Staff Communications: None.
Unfinished Business:None.
Public Comment: No comments were received.
New Business:Gary Cooper, the Planning and Building Manager, presented a map showcasing
current and future development projects around Tahoma Boulevard within the City of Yelm.
Board members engaged in further discussion with staff regarding these projects. Additionally,
Gary provided a walkthrough of the Yelm Comprehensive Plan’s website, highlighting key
features and emphasizing the community questionnaire available for participation.
Public Hearing: No public hearing held.

Subcommittee Reports: Chris Vaccarogave an update on the 28 annual City of Yelm Arbor
Day celebration.
Anne Wahrmund on behalf of the parks committee shared updates on the dog park, prairie line
trail, and trail viewpoint.
Adjournment: ANNE WAHRMUND MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING, SECONDED BY JOHN
GRAVER. ALL WERE IN FAVOR. THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED AT 4:58 PM.
