JIL �r Y diF.� .. rsr.1924 WASHINGTON CITY COUNCIL STUDY SESSION MEETING MINUTES VIRTUAL AND IN PERSON TUESDAY, May 5, 2026 Call to Order: Mayor De Pinto called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM Roll Call: Tracey Wood, Joseph Richardson, Griselda Arias, Stephanie Kangiser, Brian Hess, David Johnstone and Joe DePinto. Excused: Terry Kaminski Staff Present: City Clerk Kathy Linnemeyer, Planning and Building Manager Gary Cooper and Public Services Director Cody Colt Also Present: Superintendent Chris Woods and School Board Members Ryan Jewell, Denise Hendrickson, Bill Hauss PRESENTATIONS/DISCUSSION ITEMS: Comprehensive Plan Overview, Projected Growth and Upcoming Street Projects— Public Services Director Cody Colt gave a presentation that included information about projected population growth, impact fees and eligible expenditures, current and planned street projects. Discussions were had regarding concerns about school bus transportation and potential impacts of continued growth on the school district. MAYORS REPORT — Reported on ongoing pothole repair efforts by the City and WSDOT and work being done on the Yelm-Tenino trail. He also announced that the Splash Pad will open for the season over Memorial Day weekend. COUNCILMEMBER INITIATIVES— Brian Hess—Recognized May as a month honoring military families and announced that announced the upcoming Memorial Day Ceremony scheduled for May 25, 2026, at Yelm City Park.
