HE Amendment LetterCity of Yelm Community Development Department 105 Yelm Avenue West P.O. Box 479 Yelm, WA 98597 September 18, 2007 Steven K Causseaux, Jr. McCarthy Causseaux Hurdelbrink Inc. 902 South 10th Street Tacoma, WA 98405 Re: Preliminary Plat Approval for Cullens Road Plat, SUB-05-0684-YL & Hoffman Plat, SUB-07-0057-YL Dear Mr. Causseaux: In the preliminary plat approval for the above referenced cases, the Community Development Department recommended that tree mitigation be required for the loss of existing trees on the site during development. In the case of the Cullens Road Plat, staff recommended that the mitigation trees be planted along the east property line, and along the south property line of Tract B. Specifying the east property line was a mistake, the intention was to plant the trees along the back property lines along the west. Also, in further clarification, the trees are to be planted on a 1-1 mitigated basis. We are unsure of the exact number of trees being removed at this time. When the mitigation tre?????es are planted along the west property line, if there are more trees than proper spacing will allow, the remainder of the trees are to be planted on the south property line of Tract B. In the case of the Hoffman Plat, staff also recommended that the mitigation trees be planted along the east property line on a 1-1 basis. Once again, specifying the east property line was a mistake, the intention was to plant the trees along the back property lines along the west as noted above for the Cullens Road Plat. Staff requests to amend the Hearing Examiners decision to plant the trees on the east property line, and require that they be planted on the west property line for both plats.
