I've quickly reviewed some of the previously submitted documents from the developer concerning the site. As you know there are a few items that related specifically to public transit, which I'm simply bring to your attention for future reference: A) Environmental Checklist (prepared 1/7/05 and revised 5/10/05): Section 14 b, Transportation, identifies having publ?????ic transit along SR 507. This is not the case. Intercity Transit routes only go as far south as SR 507 and NE Creek St. There currently is no public transit service near the proposed site. B) Design Guidelines Checklist (dated 2/18/05): Section II Pedestrian Access, D -Pedestrian Paths to Adjacent Uses and Transit Facilities. There are no proposed elements identified for transit connections or customers/pedestrians in the list. If Intercity Transit does provide service near to or at the site then these elements, which also require ADA accessibility, need to be included. C) Transportation Impact Analysis (dated March 2005): simply noted that the consultant did not address public transit or any future public transit service improvements. There appears to be little reference to the Thurston County Regional Transportation Plan either. It seems a little ironic that even though public transit was mistakenly identified in their environmental checklist as serving the site they did not consider it in the traffic analysis. Here again, if Intercity Transit is to provide service at or near the site then consideration of bus stops, shelters, pedestrian and ADA accessibility will need to be addressed and incorporated into the project elements. If you have any questions or would like additional reference material regarding Intercity Transit service in the Yelm area please, feel free to get in touch.
