with my concerns regarding Wal-Mart coming to the city of Yelm. I have family all across the US and we have discussed Wal-Mart and what it has done to the US economy and the towns and
cities it has moved in and taken over. Wal-Mart moves into an area and sets up a mega store every 15 miles or so. It totally is about monopolizing the industry. My concern is that Yelm
is such a sweet city and our growth has been strong and steady, but with this store I believe it will do more damage than good. I love the little stores that have made this place quaint
and the people who moved her and endeavored to make a living when there was nothing. What are they to do, get a job with Wal-Mart? We have a lot of local merchant that will suffer and
go out of business because of a store that under bids everyone and then imports and sells us non Am?????erican items. You will be hard pressed to find something "Made in America" there.
I also have concerns of the already over burdened traffic problem we face daily. The 510 loop will not be in place for sometime and with my business I have to travel into Yelm daily.
I waste money sitting in traffic along with the people I employ. Having more traffic come through will be unbearable. I also know that Wal-Mart has many employee issues that they refuse
to resolve. In many cities like Chicago they refused Wal-Mart to come in and take over. Please take into consideration the ill effects that this mega store will have on our economy as
well as our environment. I tell you I will boycott and not patronize Wal-Mart as I will not support a company that does not take into account any one but its' own profits. Mr. Grant
I am asking you to use all of your power to please keep our city and environment pristine... Thank you for listening. Lenora Lautos lenoral@tbiz.com
