ORDINANCE NO. 479
AN ORDINANCE CREATING A FUND FOR THE RECEIPT AND
EXPENDITURE OF MONIES RECEIVED FROM HOTEL/MOTEL TAX
REVENUES.
WHEREAS, funds are received periodically from hotel/motel taxes,
and
WHEREAS, expenditure of these monies are restricted to specific
uses,
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YELM, STATE OF
WASHINGTON, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby created within the City of Yelm
Budget a fund to be known as the Hotel/Motel Tax Fund (Fund No.
107 ) for the purpose of receipting of monies received through the
Hotel/Motel Tax.
SECTION 2. This tax may be levied only for the purpose of
paying all or any part of the cost of acquisition, construction, or
operating of stadium facilities, convention center facilities,
performing arts center facilities, and/or visual art center or
museum facilities or to pay for advertising, publicizing, or
otherwise distributing information for the purpose of attracting
visitors and encouraging tourist expansion or for other approved
state statute uses.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be effective on September 8,
1993, being a date not less than five (5) days after publication.
